Indoors A Team Review

16 Mar 2009

The A Team's disappointing indoor season drew to a close last evening. A record of played 9 Won 2 Lost 7 confirms our relegation to Div 2 for the 09/10 season.

However, while results weren't great the young lads that played got valuable exposure to the adult version of the indoor game they have been so successful at as colts.
Despite being on the wrong end of a number of scorelines each of the young guns at various times showed they could mix it with the big boys.
Thanks to Mark "Papa" Smith for being the only ever present.
The numbers show we didn't score enough runs. Our three top aggregates come from
Alex Fletch - 87 Runs
Jamie Cowdrey - 85 Runs (including a great 49 in an almost successful chase)
Jake Peach - 81 Runs

Bowling saw Alex again at the top of the tree in both the wickets and all important runs per over column.
Alex Fletcher - 8 wkts 8.05 rpo
Jamie Cowdrey - 4 wkts 12.56 rpo
George Chapman - 3 wkts 9.89 rpo

Well done to all but especially to Fletch who wins the MVP - not that he'll get anything for it of course! He'll have to repeat the feat outdoors before we hand out gongs.

In short the season wasn't the best but there are enough signs that next year we'll be much more competetive. I'm looking forward to watching all our players progress through the coming outdoor season. SK.
