It has been a pleasure captaining the thirds. We had a great team spirit and a lot of laughs. Personally, I’d like to thank all the players who have contributed to making the season very entertaining on and off the pitch. The last match we played at Bedhampton was arguably the most entertaining match of the season - a close match with tremendous support from the first and second team players (having won their matches early) and supporters.

It’s been great to see the colts and some of our less experienced cricketers perform well and develop. We mentioned Mani and Bangers earlier. I believe Ollie Smith has developed well this season and it’s been great to add Sam Richards to the team and also give young Will Perrin his first experience of mens league cricket.

I’d personally like to thank Bergy and Simon for their assistance on the pitch and around the team. A huge thank you to Sean for what he has done on and off the pitch all season. The level of work he puts into this club is extraordinary. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Dan Cleary for his support over the last few seasons. He has always been considerate in his team selection and been supportive of the thirds. The fact that he brought his players to our final match of the season just shows the level of support and commitment he has shown the club. Thanks Dan - you will be missed.

Finally, the Captains and Coaches Player of the Season goes to the most entertaining, funny, loud, conch blowing, mystery spinner I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Step forward Mike Berg!
