Match report A very windy but enjoyable game of cricket against the lovely team that is Portchester saw the Swans embark on their third league game. Nikki winning the toss sent Portchester to bat. Aimee opened the bowling with a very tidy over, seeing our first wicket come in the form of an edged shot being well taken by Mash behind the stumps. Midge bowling very well resulting in a lovely shot played in the 4th to mid off but into the safe hands of Soooze. Two direct hits from Nikki in the field saw run outs in the 5th and 8th and Samuels picking up a well celebrated clean bowled in the 7th. Tracys hard to face bowling saw our 6th wicket being taken by a catch from Nikki at short mid wicket and another great take behind from Mash saw Nikki claim the 7th. The wicket haul continuing with a caught and bowled from Nikki in the 12th. The match saw Katie bowl her first league balls of the season and she smashed it, bowling a very tidy 3 overs, one to watch! Our final wicket coming from a miss timed shot and Midge sneaking ball under bat to the stumps. A nice maiden from Aimee in the last saw Portchester's batting come to an end.
On to bat and big hitting Mandy didn't fail to disappoint finding the boundary on several occasions. Some lovely shots finding the gaps from Midge and Mash saw our runs climb. Roisin and Soooze ran well as a pair and no wickets lost. No wickets taken in the 13th-16th either put the pressure on the final pair to keep the clean sheet.......they saw off some very very good bowling from Sam and Katie to keep Portchester from taking any wickets.
