Match report Maximum points were secured on a rain-free afternoon after Ben chose to bat first. Fair Oak were in the game when P & S were 30 for 2 after 11 overs, but Usman and Jack added 61 in 11 overs before Jack was caught on the cover boundary. This did not help the visitors as Ollie and Usman put on 119 in just 22 overs, comfortably the highest partnership of the season so far. Usman built on his 50 at Langley Manor last week to show his enjoyment of grass pitches and was unfortunate to be run out so near a century.
With 7 overs left, 55 runs were added, Max and Ben making an unbeaten 44 from the final 4.2 overs to register their highest total of the first six matches.
This was a daunting prospect for the visitors and they were soon 31 for 3 against the opening attack. Matters did not improve when Ewen and Ben took over and after 21 overs they were 62 for 6. White and Goodyear added 43 in 18 overs thanks to the best batting of the innings, but both perished within three deliveries when Jake bowled his final over. Gradwell and Manoj also show defiance with 28 for the ninth wicket until Felix and Max ended their resistance.
This result moves P & S into third place behind Hambledon and Langley Manor.
