Match report Top of Division 2 Langley Manor chose to field first on a soft surface. After 12 overs the scoreboard showed 45 for 1. One run later, wicket keeper Purnell claimed his second catch to end a partnership of 42. Usman and Jack then added another 42 before the former was dismissed. Six runs later, Jack suffered a decision which was extremely unlucky. The next 5 wickets fell for 41 in 14 overs. Max and debutant Felix then added 29 for the last wicket in 12 overs. This was a major factor in the winning of the match. They ensured a second batting point and kept the home side in the field for a lot longer than they expected.
The pitch had given assistance to all the bowlers in the first innings and this continued for the rest of the match. The three visiting spinners bowled 30 overs between them, taking 5 for 70. This left Manor needing 65 from the last 9 overs with opener Harris on 49.
At this point Max and Jake returned and in 3.3 overs the game was finished. The last three wickets fell in 4 deliveries.
