Match report Overall we were rather outplayed this evening but hung in there while batting and might have nicked a number of run outs that could have changed things, so it's far from all doom and gloom.
Put into bat, Ishaan got a good straight one early on but Gully looked to be in no trouble at all until he took a tight run to the strikers end on and departed for the 1st time this season (at least he's got an average now!). Tom's settled excellently after a bit of a frantic start and his two straight driven back to back 4s were a highlight. He retired bringing Finn in. Finn, like Ishaan, got a decent ball before he could get set which brought Henry in to Jim. This pair kept everything out and allowed extras to build taking us beyond 100. After cracking a 4 Jim perished with a ball to go which brought Tom back, only for him to be run out of the last ball with out adding to his retirement score.
Set 110 to win, they started confidently until Jim landed a perfectly measured ball to castle their No2, top of off. Unfortunately this was our final success and they cantered home with 2 and a bit overs to go.
Another great learning experience for our young and relatively inexperienced side. We are now done until the back end of January so a happy Christmas & NY to all our readers!
