Match report Being asked to bat we put on a good show with Tom looking particularly secure and retiring. His opening partner, Jacob, was perhaps unlucky to perish caught off the air-con pipe at the top of the back wall. Harrison and Henry ran with real commitment which put our opponents under pressure and by doing so brought a few errors. However, the old adedge "live by the sword, die by the sword" came home to roost as Henry was run out while Harrison was caught. Both Max and Ollie played their parts too, running well until Max rather slowed on reaching the line rather than running though it to be found just short. On his return Tom scarificed his wicket on the last ball trying to eek out an extra couple for us. With Ollie unbeaten we closed on "Nelson", 111.
Waterlooville's reply was soon on the ropes as Tom's lifter to their skipper grazed the edge and was well caught by ollie. His partner survived a couple of tight runs until Max fizzed in a throw which Harrison collected very neatly to run him out. The very next ball Harrion got their number 3 LBW. More exciteable running and good thinking with good hands, Tom (on one occasion with help from Ollie) helped us grab two more wickets - both falling to run outs. We rounded things off with 6.3 overs left when Tom stooped to take a tidy grab off the accurate Max. A deserved win in a performance that shows we learnt from our last outing. Well done.
