Match report A rusty return to match play saw us eventually run out winners against a pretty inexperienced Hambledon outfit. Being asked to bowl, Oscar and Henry F started steadily with Henry's legspin foxing their opener and Sam's dead-eye throw beating his partner. A decent partnership followed as we rather lost our radar and their number 3 played positively. An excellent 11th over from Ryan (going for just 1 run) slowed things down after their top scorer retired. Henry F took the last over and had his revenge for their gun player taking a crashed four from him by bowling him and closing things out with 4 dots.
Set 116 to win we needed a solid batting performance - which we got. Both Henry's achevied retirement scores, mixing well judged running and back wall hits, while Jacob was our only casulty due to an extra positive call for a run - but not until he too had batted well to get within a score of retirement. Aided by the extra count (being nearly as generous as we were) we got home with 3 full overs and 5 wickets to spare.
