Match report Two pretty inexperienced sides faced off, with Gully making his debut for P&S and Oscar and Ryan playing only their second matches. Being put into bat Jacob and Ryan got us off to a decent start before Jacob fell trying for the back wall. Ryan continued solidly, running with conviction and was joined by skipper, our "senior pro" Henry - who batted as his experience suggested he can. Plenty of good straight hitting saw him retire. Sam was busy early on but was well caught at square leg before he really got going. A few dots had Ryan seem to change his game plan and he also fell going for a big hit. However, while he was dropped, he couldn't get back to be run out. Oscar & Gully grew in confidence and got our score to a competitive level before Gully was run out. Oscar kept up the good work before the returning Henry closed things out with a final straight hit for four.
With the ball Sam was greeted by the skipper with a 6 then 4 but he had the last laugh as the third ball of the first over bowled his man. Sam was in think of it again when he castled their number three and again as he took as sharp catch off the wall to see off the other opener - giving the deserving Gully his maiden indoor wicket. Very tight sets from all the bowlers kept then well below the required run rate. There was just time for Henry to induce a glove to the rear wall for Jacob to catch to end the decent innings of their number 4. The final pair batted well to see them unbeaten but we ran out comfortable winners. Well played.
