Match report At last a summer evening for our U9s to start their campaign. Being asked to bowl skipper Leah led the way with her controlled bowling, she was by far the most economical bowler on show. We were soon taking wickets with Fin collecting two run outs as well as bowling one batter. Dylan found his mojo to pick up a wicket too but perhaps the play of the day was James' caught and bowled. Michael, Isaac and Zeb all bowled testing balls and supported the team with some great fielding. With the bat everyone got off the mark with partnerships all the way down our batting order. Michael scored well and he and the ever busy Zeb led the way. Dylan and Fin ran and called (mostly) really well. The Bartlet boys struck the ball as cleanly as any and ran the only two of the evening. In the end Leah and the returning Fin had to battle with the pick of the bowlers and while they took us really close the game ended with us just a couple of runs short. It was as really great start for all the team and I look forward to seeing them go forward.
