Match report A youngish P&S U11B lost to a mature Locks Heath in a game they may well have won on another day. Henry O'H volunteered to skipper, won the toss (well, paper stone scissors actually) and decided to bowl first. A good all round bowling and fielding performance, with just the occasional lapse of concentration, saw us take 9 wickets. Indie, Henry O'H, Henry F and Ryan all took wickets and were well backed up by the other bowlers. It was also good to see us take our catches when the chances came, notably Will H holding onto a firmly struck ball at mid-on and a spectacular diving effort to his right from Oliver PF behind the stumps. Locks Heath had scored well to reach 139 but our wicket haul meant we would start our innings on 45 and grounds for hope of a victory.

Oliver PF and Henry F opened and although they both scored well they also lost wickets and this became the pattern of our innings. Everybody contributed to our total but only our two highest scoring batsmen, Felix with 14 and Ryan with 11, kept their wickets intact. By the time our final pair took to the field we had lost 7 wickets, with run outs being the biggest cause of our downfall, and the increasing Locks Heath target was beyond us. We finished on 138 -8. An entertaining match and a great effort with everybody contributing, lessons to learn on calling and running but definitely lots of positives too.
