Match report On this breezy day, Hambledon chose to bat and achieved maximum batting points without ever threatening to run amok. As usual, Jake took an early wicket, but Bond and Glanfield then added 81 in 22 overs. Both were dismissed in successive overs and Ben struck again to make the score 116 for 4 in the 34th over. Willoughby and Lewis Le Clerq made 48 in eight overs to increase the run rate. This was improved further by Willoughby and Atkin who added 64 in eight overs. The final total was satisfactory but not unattainable.
Matt and Clem found the going tough against the new ball. After nine overs the score was 13 for one. By the time Ollie was out, the run rate had improved to three an over (57 for 2). Matt and Jack added 40 in eight overs despite some unplayable deliveries from Glanfield (who also bowled ten wides). The Benfield brothers saw up the 150 with 14 overs left, but once Matt was stumped, the only significant resistance was a partnership of 27 in five overs by Ben and Chris.
Seven points seemed a meagre return for an 18 run defeat.
