Match report Our batting performance was a great way to start our season. James led the way with a very tidy innings picking the gaps and running confidently. Good glove work put paid to Jack and Tom's ambitions but Harrison E settled well matching James' retirement. While they offered us a good few extras our running got better with Fin and Harrison M scampering well until Fin was just short. James' managed to crack a boundary on his return to get us to the competitive 120 mark.
At least we thought it was competitive until we put in a rather lack lustre fielding and bowling performance (though Fin's keeping and encouragement was a very positive note). The least said the better as we booked more extras than they offered, dropped a few, chose the wrong end to throw at etc, etc. Our successes came via good thinking as. James walked in 2 runouts and a straight one got him a bowled scalp too. Then the Harrison's combined to take our other wicket. Unfortunately we conspired to give their two gun players a life or two which cost us rather dear.
If we can get a bit of energy and buzz into our fielding and not strive too hard for speed in our bowling we will be a handful for the rest of our opponents. Onwards and upwards.
