Match report A solid bowling and fielding performance set up this win against a side containing some good players. Jack was the standout in the field being involved in all 3 run outs and castling two with his bowling. However he was well backed up by Joel in the wickets column who got their skipper and the rest of the lads who showed much better concentration and energy than we saw before the Christmas break. Although their last man played a good lone hand, a score of 90 was a little below par and gave us a chance.
Nevertheless, we needed a confident start - which Lenny and Joel duly gave us. Although Lenny was run out they were going at 10 an over through the partnership. A chanceless 20 from Joel got us a man back in the hutch to leave Jack and Alfie to take us on. Some lovely strokes from Jack almost saw him retire too but he perished through a disappointing run out just short. However, we were almost home and a Callum cracker for 4 and Alfie "the Scamper" Penney got us over the line with more than 2 overs to spare. Well done all.
