Match report Missing a couple of "big guns" we put up a decent show but came up just short.
Asked to bowl first the Dan's T & C started well with DC particularly parsimonious. Freddie's second over won us our first point as he tempted a shot to Nick's hands. Their main man and rather too many wides helped them keep moving. The number 3 also batted well and once Dan C was done they were only really slowed by Ollie's first ever indoor over. A hectic final over saw 20 runs added (not all the bowlers fault by any means) which I felt at the time might have raised the bar a bit too high.
So it proved. As is usually the case, Dan C and Ollie mixed confident and confused running but generally looked in control until Ollie couldn't decide what to do with a half volley and settled for cracking into mid off's quick hands! Freddie joined Dan and they both kept us going until Freddie couldn't quite get home. When Dan C retired for a very well played 27 Nick and Dan T scampered really well. The end of the 11th over saw us exactly as the oppo were at 111 (although we had lost Dan to a well flighted tweaker). Despite an early wide we couldn't quite close things out. A good game but both sides will be disappointed with the extras.
