Match report Not for the first time this season, P & S made a good start and then saw their victory chance evaporate before tea. The visitors chose to bat and were interrupted by a rain break of just under half an hour with the score on 8 for 0. At the resumption, South Wilts scored at around 4 per over, but lost wickets regularly. At 29 overs they were 119 for 6. At this point, the veteran, Rob Wade joined the captain, Tom Pearce to add a match-winning partnership of 167 in 21 overs. Wade attacked from the off, but Pearce bided his time, scoring 55 off his last 28 deliveries. By this time, bowling was a thankless and difficult task.
After tea, Alex was caught off a full-blooded cut and nobody could stay with Clem for long. He was out at 103 for 8 and a second week with no batting points looked inevitable, but Tom went for his shots and with good support from Chris, they added 53. There was time for Jono to become the third man in double figures before Tom perished, still attacking.
