Match report Good opening win. Although we lost Charlie early and rode our luck a little Harry's Gadd and Wratten continued where they left off the outdoor season and quickly got into stride. When HG perished, caught on the back wall, skipper Ben kept the run rate up and Harry rushed to his 1st retirement with 6-4-6. Unfortunately, Ollie S got a straight one before settling which brought Ollie K in. He and Ben scampered a few before Ben clipped the back wall to retire. That bought HW back and a few balls later he retired again for an explosive 50*. That left Ben and Ollie to see us to the break.
With the ball we were always in front. Portsmouth seemed stuck between running and hitting which yielded run outs by Harry G and Charlie and a caught and bowled for Charlie. In between Charlie got a ball through for a simple stumping. With overs running out and the rate climbing the game meandered to a close with us 51 runs to the good.
