Match report A keenly contested match with a nail-biting finish to clinch victory by 3 runs. Losing 3 wickets in the first 4 overs with only 18 runs on the board, it fell to Harry Wratten to bat through to the 10th over for a very fine 31 runs. Defending a score of 97, the lads took to the field, each one making valuable contributions, Jez Pidgeon was sharp behind the wicket, and Harry Gadd making the first breakthrough taking a magnificant catch off Ollie Perrin's first over. Ben Saunders bowled his full quota of overs for a miserly 15 runs and a valuable wicket, Harrison Whitworth opened and closed the innings with tight and accurate bowling dismissing the Purbrook lead batsman to the last over, leaving the tail-enders with too few balls chasing too many runs. For their fighting spirit and great teamwork, a well deserved victory.
