Portsmouth & Southsea Cricket Club

As usual, the 1st round of the Hampshire Cricket League Sports Quiz was held at Bath Lane and once more the Portsmouth & Southsea team emerged triumphant. The team was unchanged from last year (Mark & Simon Smith, Dave Peachey and John Townsend) and they took an early lead which was maintained throughout the rounds until the final section in which they recorded a handsome 44 points to clinch the victory.
The final placings and scores were:-
208 Portsmouth & Southsea
194 Sarisbury
193 Rowner
178 Gosport
157 Fareham & Crofton

208 was the second highest score in the county, five point behind Aldershot, the reigning champions.
