Official Notice of AGM
Dear Members,
We’re excited to announce that our Senior Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled for:
Thursday, 5th December 2024, at 7:30 PM
Location: Clubhouse, St James' Cricket Ground, Portsmouth, PO4 8JR
This is an important occasion for all members to engage in shaping the future of our club, and we’d love to see as many of you as possible in attendance. Please see below for details on the current committee, the proposed nominations for committee and captain roles, as well as vacant positions.
Committee Members and Captains Update
We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Harry Yard (Chairman of Selectors/Fixtures Secretary), Connor Saunders (3rd XI Captain), George Wilson (Midweek As Captain), and Ollie Smith (Midweek Bs Captain) for their dedication and service in their roles. They will be stepping down this season, and we greatly appreciate their contributions to the club.
Election of Committee Members
The following committee members have expressed interest in continuing their roles, with some new nominations proposed:
- President: Ray Benfield
- Chairman: Sean Kanavan
- Club Secretary: Louise Etherington
- Treasurer: John Townsend
- Junior Co-ordinator: Matt Wheeler
- Safeguarding Officer: Nik Lucocq
- Club Development: Tim Jacobs
- Entertainments Officer: Roisin Barnard
- Chairman of Selectors: Proposed Sean Kanavan
- Player Liaison Officer: Jon Ashford
- Publicity Officer: Proposed Connor Saunders
Non-Committee Role:
- Fixtures Secretary: VACANT POSITION
Election of Cricket Captains
The proposed cricket captains for the coming season are as follows:
- 1st XI Captain: Ben Saunders
- 2nd XI Captain: James White
- 3rd XI Captain: Proposed Ollie Smith
- 4th XI Captain: VACANT POSITION
- Midweek A Team Captain: Proposed Lenny Field
- Midweek B Team Captain: VACANT POSITION
- W10 Swans Captain: Nikki Dowdell
- W10 Sharks Captain: Lou Etherington
Call for Nominations for Vacant Positions
If you’re interested in any of the positions listed above, we encourage you to reach out! You can submit your interest either by emailing Lou or Sean or by nominating yourself in person at the AGM.
Please Note: If there is more than one nomination for any position, the election will proceed to a vote during the AGM. Only adult members present at the meeting will be eligible to vote.
