Portsmouth & Southsea Cricket Club News story

Cricket Training is Back - Monday 20th (6 - 7.30) Booking Required

07 Jul 2020

Dear All,

We are very pleased to advise Portsmouth & Southsea Colts Cricket Training is back - starting Monday 20th July at St James' Cricket Ground 6pm to 7.30pm.

As you will all be very aware we, like you, are conscious of our responsibilities in the current climate and the safety of all our stakeholders is of the up-most importance. We have therefore written a set of guidelines the Club and Members will need to sign up to before we can offer, and your child partake in, the opportunity to play cricket.

There are two attached documents:

The first provides a detailed breakdown of the Club's actions and plans and explains what we will ask of our players and parents. It is a fairly lengthy document but PLEASE READ IT to ensure you understand how we are all to behave.    P&SCC CV19 Notes July 20.pdf

The second is a Parental Consent Form which will need to be signed by the parent or carer of every Child we work with.  P&SCC Parent.pdf

Printed copies of the consent form will be available when you attend your first session back.

As you will see from the main document, in order to best ensure we are able to manage the social distancing and sanitising arrangements we need to limit our training nights to 40 participants. Therefore, a booking system will be in operation.

In order to confirm your child(ren)s attendance please text or email our Welfare Office, Lou Etherington on 07720 248535 or louetheringtonpandscc@gmail.com

We will operate a first come first served arrangement.

A couple more things:

The entrance to St James' is currently managed by a Security Team who will allow access as appropriate. We will advise them of the names of our participants on the Monday morning so if you have not booked you may not gain access.

While we have previously been happy for parents to drop their Children off and return pick them up, for the time being we would ask that you stay at the ground to assist should it be necessary (as described in the attached document).

And Finally - payment. While we are hoping to be able to provide matches in the not too distant future the shape of our season is irreparably changed so it is difficult to assess what our "all-in" fee should be. Therefore we are proposing to charge £4 per child, per session or match. We can collect it in cash (ideally with the correct change to assist in safe handling) or by way of bank transfer. We are conscious a number of members had already paid up their annual subscription. For those we would offer three options - 1) it is returned in full and you pay as you go. 2) we tally the number of £4's used at the end of the year and return the balance in Dec/early Jan or 3) we roll the whole amount forward for next years subs and you pay as you go from now until the year end. Please let us know which you'd prefer and we will do as you wish.

Should you have specific questions about the contents of the documents or this note please let us know by return email or call Sean Kanavan on 07890 323072.

We look forward to seeing you soon but please:

DON'T FORGET TO BOOK and REMEMBER IF YOU OR YOUR CHILD FEEL UNWELL PLEASE STAY AT HOME AND FOLLOW NHS ADVICE - THANK YOU.

Kind regards,

The P&SCC Colts Team
