Match report A lovely sunny day at St James' saw the Swans take on the young guns from the P&S 15b's! A great game played with a great friendly bunch of boys. The bigger boundary caused the swans some problems but they stepped up to the challenge and did their best. Misha showing absolute dominance with the bat, adjusting quickly to the off spin scoring a massive 25. Bennett came into the team last minute and also smashed it finding the boundary on a few occasions. Overall the Swans struggled with the boys bowling with too many dot balls but most held their wicket with 3 lost by catches. Emma was caught by Tom in the 11th as she just didn't quite get enough on it to lift it over the top of mid wicket and Roisin was caught behind in the 13th by a little edged shot and again in the 14th by the catch of the day from Ollie P-F.
On to performance with the ball.
Midge opened the bowling keeping the runs to a minimum and by the end of the 4th the swans were ahead. Unfortunately it didn't last long with Ned finding the boundary on several occasions but our first wicket came when he was bowled by a lovely straight ball from Misha. Roisin picked up our second wicket with a lovely catch from Mash behind the stumps in the 10th and another catch behind in the 19th saw Emma bag a wicket. Nikki took a caught and bowled in the 12th and some great team work on the boundary from Aimee and Emma saw a runout at the keepers end in the 13th. The Swans gave a good game but despite taking more wickets unfortunately a few missed opportunities in the field and just didn't score enough with the bat it wasn't our day. Great friendly game though, well done all and thank you 15b's!
