Match report A lovely hot evening saw the Swans rack up another convincing win. Losing the toss and sent out to bat, the opening pair put a tidy 31 on the board. With Samuels relishing the top spot finding the boundary rope on multiple occasions and Mandy hitting a lovely 6 over square leg. Midge and Mash followed suit with Mash scoring a massive 24 off 6, finding the gaps with some well placed shots. The ladies kept the runs ticking over at a good rate and our first wicket fell in the 9th with Roisin being bowled by young Abi. The foxes couldn't find any more wickets until the 18th over when 3 fell, with Mish and Katie becoming victims of the talented young gun Susanna who bowled excellently. Mish still managing to rack up 34 in the pairs 4 overs, finding the boundary with ease.
A quick rest and drinks break and then back into the field. Tracy opened the bowling superbly, giving just 1 run to the Foxes, Samuels had a great first over which would have been a lovely maiden but for a rogue no ball. A near catch from Soooze (between the legs) almost saw a wicket claimed but an epic bruise was the only reward. Tracy took the first wicket for the swans in her second over with Mandy taking a nice catch at cover, Samuels came back into the attack in the 8th with a lovely ball hitting the off stump and she found the stumps again in the 15th. Katie with her super pace bowling claimed a wicket in the 9th hitting middle stump and claimed her second in the 17th by an excellent catch from Mash behind the stumps. Mash doing her job well took another catch in the 11th. Nikki at silly mid just missed out on catching a fast paced ball in the 19th but the next ball of the over nestled safely in her hands claiming Midge her first wicket of the game. Her second and the last wicket of the game coming from a well watched catch at mid on by Samuels.
A great all round performance. Well played all!
