Match report An excellent opening burst from Jono had our hosts on the back foot early but two 70+ run partnerships between McKenzie and Clark and Clark and Smith helped them build a decent total. While a couple of tough caught and bowled chances didn’t stick, we grabbed everything else with catches from Lenny (on 1st team debut) and Tom W the picks. Jono’s figures were the best he’d recorded in a completed match and ensure our honours boards will include a fully deserving name.
Our reply started steadily but the bowlers gradually tightened a stranglehold and kept chipping away. Felix, Ben and Max made it into the 20s but we were always behind with their spinners proving their match winners. We have relinquished 2nd place but remain well in touch, if we win our final three matches we won’t be far away.
