Match report What a good way to finish the 13B season. A good game, playing in really kind conditions with a really friendly spirit (and we won ;-).
Batting first Ishaan was unlucky to get the best ball bowled all day but Gia and Gully built well to steady things. Running particularly was excellent. Gully's hot batting form continued with another retirement. Once Gia had departed both Toby, Charlie and James all kept up an end to help us stay in control. Thomas added real impetus as he timed the ball to the boundary 7 times to be our second retiree. Once he had left the field bat and helmet raised, Dexter and Sam saw us home with confidence - with Sam's cover drive for 4 one of the shots of the day. We left them a stiff target of 138.
Gia opened the bowling and having been edged for 4 first ball castled her man the next. Toby followed suit next over and all our bowlers kept things tight with Gully, James, Ishaan and Dexter all registering wickets. Excellent backing up featured as did ground fielding with Sam hustling an underarm runout of their big gun and Gia and Gully both also direct hitting to beat despairing stretches. Top catching from Gully and Sam again and the coup de grace the caught and bowled from Ishaan in the final over saw us home, 38 runs to the good. Well played everyone.
