P&S hosted Purbrook this Wednesday. Owen won the toss and decided to bat first. Dylan & Ned opened the batting and put together a good partnership. Ned hit a cover drive cleanly to the fence off his first ball, which set the partnership up nicely. Dylan was playing the pull shot particularly well, latching onto any shorter balls. Ned fell near the half way point in the game, edging the ball behind to the keeper, who took a good low catch. Dylan kept going looking strong until he was well bowled just short of retirement sadly. Tom and Josh ended the innings not out and saw us a finish on a total of 75.

Indie & Gully then opened up the bowling and looked to start well, with Indie clean bowling the opener. Unfortunately the number 3 was a great batsmen and smashed a rapid 35 retirement, which put the game well out of our reach.

Some nice shots played throughout our first innings and our overall bowling performance was very good despite what the score might show. Very few wides were bowled. Unfortunately they just had one very good batsmen who took the game away from us.

Great improvement all round from last season look forward to the next game.
