Match report A bad day at the office. We were proper turned over by a very good side. Winning the toss we batted which in hind sight wasn't a good call since the track settled into a belter and the ball was soft and didn't sing as we had hoped. Our batting was solid with JD & Clem building (very) steadily through the first 10 overs. Once Jack went Dan & Steve took us through to 25 overs and when Dan went Clem took the bull by the horns and hit the accelerator. With the skipper initially and then with Chris Rips he added 140 in the last 20 overs.
At tea we were happy that we could defend our 197. Wrong! While Jamie and Gra had their moments against the openers we didn't get the early breaks we've been used to. When Jamie did break through thanks to Jono's safe hands The oppo's skipper came in an proceeded to smite the ball to all parts taking the game away. Jono bowled with pace and was unlucky and GP allowed us to set fields as ever but the the switch to Chis Rips bought our last two successes which was I'm afraid too late. An other 50 runs would have made things interesting as we felt on the up at the end but we were well beaten.
