Portsmouth & Southsea Cricket Club 2nd XI v Portchester II on Sat 22 Aug 2009 at 2pm
Match was Abandoned

Match report No result today due to a spectator from Portchester's camp falling ill and needing to be taken to hospital. Our thoughts are with him, his family and the wider club. Every best wish.
The game we were able to complete saw us bat first and thanks to a rapid ton from Dan and a more measured unbeaten hundred from Sherm saw us in a strong position. Jack got the ball rolling taking 2 fours of the first over and would be disappointed not to go on from his well made 24. While neither the 100 boys efforts were chanceless they were excellent knocks making use of another St James belter.
We began our bowling effort with BMW beating the edge and bowling the channel. At the other end it was great to have GP back who's first ball was never going to get a wicket it did so much! He took the only scalp thanks to his regulation away swing and a tidy snafle by wicky for the day Rips. At 9 for 1 off 7 overs we were well ahead on points but that is of little concern as what transpired next put our match into perspective. A mention here should go to Portchester's Skipper Phil Vincent, and Mr William's Snr for their 1st aid efforts.
