Match report The winning run continues; this time, the opposition had four wins to their credit, but by the tea interval their chances of recording a fifth victory were slim. The P & S innings again got off to a rather turgid start against some accurate bowling. After 13 overs the score was 19 for one. Jake settled quickly into the number three position and after 16 overs the scoring rate bettered two an over. In the 21st over Matt was acrobatically caught at slip and Jack joined Jake to post the best partnership of the match, 80 in 15 overs. Alex departed at 151 and Jack, back in form and severe on the bad delivery, fell at 177 with seven overs to go. By this time, Tom had played himself in and launched a succession of big shots which included a run of 48 off 16 balls. When Tom was caught going for another expansive shot, Dean continued the good work , the last two overs accruing 19 runs.
With a comforting total on the scoreboard, Jake and Jono set about the Paultons batting. This time it was Jono who made the breakthrough, dismissing the top three at a personal cost of 11. Jake then chipped in with two more scalps and the Paultons innings stood in ruins at 27 for five. The rest of the batting showed a lot more resistance, adding 82 from 27 overs. Max caught up with Jake, his three wickets taking his total to 13 in the league.
