Match report Rather like our 13s earlier tonight, our 16s took the field with an inexperienced side. Bowling first we couldn't dislodge their openers watching both retire without too many trembles. Once they had gone however we got a foothold with Max taking a caught and bowled to remove their danger man and Tom and Harrison combined calmly to run out the number 4. However an extra count of over 60 was likely to hurt us. Before they closed on 146 Harrison managed to tempt the number 5 into holing out to Jacob off the last ball.
We didn't get off to the best of starts as Tom was undone by a sharp piece of fielding to be run out without facing. Jacob and Harrison didn't let that phase them as they did a great job in keeping us in it. Jacob crashed a four to retire bringing Henry to the crease for this 16s bow. Unfortunately, despite a well struck clip towards the back wall the bowler made a good grab to see the back of him. Ollie, our next man in, perished too - this time to a back wall effort that didn't quite have the legs. Max stoically accumulated and with Harrison kept us within reach. It was the 8th over that probably was where things changed, as after a few dots Harrison lobbed the ball back to the bowler to perish. Jacob returned and used a mix of elegance and power to pepper the back wall (and fielders). However, there was just too much to do and we rolled out 30 odd runs short.
