Match report An exciting match to start our 2021 campaign. With only skipper Tom available from our elder players at this age an inexpereinced 16s side took on Portsmouth. Our bowling and fielding were good but we couldn't find breakthroughs until Max on debut found a way to bowl their No4 round his legs. They closed on 124.
With bat, Jacob and Tom looked the business as an opening pair and both retired. Harrison, with the help of Talitha, Max and Ollie almost got us home but with 2 needed off the last ball we couldn't find the wall or complete a run so ended up one shy. Such small margins show more positive running might get us home on another day. However a good start and we'll be better for the experience.
