Portsmouth & Southsea lost the toss and had to bat. Owen & Ned opened but unfortunately were both, well bowled. We were up against good bowlers, which started a collapse in wickets. Ryan stayed in for a while, played a nice shot to the third man boundary before also departing. Gia was next into bat, she batted nicely along with William before he was run out, by some good fielding from the opposition. In next was Henri, this was his first game of cricket, he had never batted before, he batted well and kept his wicket for a fair amount of time with Gia. Slowly ticking the score board on Henri was bowled, so last man standing Gia continued to bat well, which helped us get the game to the 18th over. With Gia being the final bat to fall taking us to a decent score, considering on how it was looking.

Ryan and Owen opened against two very good batsmen, Ryan kept the run rate down. Edward then followed up with good figures of 9 runs of his 2 overs.
Thomas was next to bowl he got the opener out, a good catch from Owen at cover. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough as Portsmouth got the runs with 10 overs to spare.
A tough game against a strong Portsmouth team. Well done to all the team they all still worked hard and never let it bother them. Good accurate bowling from all. Great sportsmanship from Ned, who stepped in last minute to wicket keep for the first time & only gave away 4 byes.
On to the next game!
