Match report Batting first we got off a solid start with Felix and Talitha putting on 40 before Talitha fell trying to up the run rate being caught, Robbie started well until a mix up saw him run out. Felix retired with a well made 35 and then Henry O picked out the tallest fielder and fell to a great catch. Henry F steadied the ship but with Elliott, Jacob and Sam all getting run out and Henry caught going for quick runs it left Elliot last man standing and he ensured we used the full 20 overs. Our total of 110 was always going to need a great bowling performance if we were going to defend it. Talitha bowled a miserly 4 over spell only going for 8 runs and the the rest of the bowlers bowled very accurate with only 1 wide and 1 no ball which was a good effort against a physically much bigger and older side who used their height advantage to hit the ball very hard. The highlight of our match came with one run needed, a fantastic direct hit run out from Jacob from 30 yards. The difference today was the Portsmouth batsman had the physicality to hit 4s and 6s on a slow outfield so didn't have to take too many risks when running whereas we struggled to reach the boundary which put pressure on our running between the wicket.
