Match report A really close one - if Rowan hadn't hit the penultimate ball so hard and been caught off the trunking on the back wall it would have been a different story.
Rowan & Alex opened the bowling and gave them nothing to hit, beating the bat and each taking a wicket - Eugene taking a very sharp stumping off Alex. Both skipper Rob and A team debutant George bowled consistently and at times had the upper hand but generally the onslaught was on. A cracking c&b from George and a couple of last over wickets for Rob saw them close on 103.
As is his wont Rowan came out all guns blazing and was soon retired back in the hutch. Eugene perished when he and Rob were starting to look comfortable and Rob went to a sharp c&b. Always close enough to the run rate we needed a partnership but while Mark, Fletch and George all had their moments they all came and went leaving it to Rowan to finish off.
Unfortunately it wasn't to be which was a shame for Rowan who had played an excellent hand.
