Match report Our last match of the season came against the champions elect and was as tough as expected. An early run out and a great juggling close in catch from Umar off Jacob got us going. A further run out and Jacob taking a single bail off to bowl the number 6 saw the retired number 4 back. He went very unluckily being caught off the back wall trunking by the nevertheless deserving Lenny. A final over frenzy had the opener get to a crashing half century and leave us chasing 140 to win.
Rather unsurprisingly the Lenny Tom partnership again ended in a run out with Tom marching back. Lenny followed a ball later having been bowled. Umar cracked a top four but was castled immediately thereafter. Cam too was run out but Dinel and Jacob batted very solidly and then expanded with several back wall hits to get us up to 80 with no further loss.
So our season comes to an end. Our thanks to our matured colts Cam, Ben (who didn't play tonight) and skipper Lenny who now look forward to mens cricket - where they will soon become valuable assets for us I'm sure.
