Match report Our final match of the season didn't get off to the best of starts as we took the field with just 5 players but our famous 5 got amongst it well. Although both their openers retired they didn't get away from our tight bowling. In a purple patch in the middle, we saw the number 3 caught by Sam off Henry's well flighted leggies, number 5 taken with a single handed pouch by the bowling Jacob P, number 6 run out and the returning number 2 popped a catch back to Henry. However, with two retirees back they finished strongly and we were left a stiff 140 to get for the win.
Henry and our 'keeper for the evening Jacob W started very well with excellent running, unfortunately a new bowler saw Jacob lose his patience to get bowled and the other Jacob soon followed. Harrison put in his best batting performance of the year and he and Sam (again playing a mature innings) saw our runs grow. Both however fell going for the back wall when the running cricket they had played so well might have got us closer. However, their work and that of all the team was very good and leaves us confident there is more to come from all of them, whether in this division or in the 16s in years to come.
