Match report Well the last one is upon us....

Ollie was at the wheel today and we were put into the field on a warm Sunday morning. As always, we kept it tight and our good fielding meant that our opponents were always in our sights. Dylan was the star man in the first innings with 2 wickets and 2 catches (one being for his own figures!). Sanna also picked up a scalp but an all round strong bowling performance meant that Locks Heath set us a competitive, yet achievable 90 to win.
The Patel girls lead the way for us with the bat giving us a very strong total of 28-1 after the first 4 overs. This total was built up with 4 very well run 2's which was great to see. Next in were Dylan and Will who were a lot more brutal with their batting style by hitting 5 boundaries in their allocated overs. This left both bats on scores in double figures. At the 8 over mark we were ahead of the game by being 63-1. Finally, skipper Ollie and Abbie came in to finish the game off for us. Some good bowling from the opposition slowed down the scoring rate but our final pair kept their cool to get us in a winning position with the final 6 good balls to go. Ollie was tearing his knees up 3 out of the final 6 balls proving his was willing to put his body on the line for the team! With the loss of a wicket and 4 coming off the final over it meant there was nothing between the sides and the result ended a TIE!

What a brilliant way to end a very promising first season for the majority of our youngsters. There is an awful lot of potential in our squad and over the next few years as a club we are excited to see these talents grow into competent cricketers. I have really enjoyed the last few games with the B's and all the players involved are a credit to their parents, coaches and club. One request - keep enjoying your cricket!
