Match report A fantastic match played in great spirit by both sides. Talitha's first captaincy experience didn't start too well with a late call off leaving us a player short and she lost the toss but that was forgotten as she and Tom got us off to a superb start racing to an opening partnership of 56 mixing boundaries with some sharp running. Ollie came in at no 3 and continued the trend with a quick 23. At 103 for 2 we looked well placed to reach 150 but the introduction of a leg-spinner saw us collapse to 113 all out as we struggled against the straight ball and still had 4 overs left when we finished our innings. We were going to need a disciplined bowling and fielding performance if we were going to have any chance of a win. Elliott and Rob opened up the bowling and bowled a very tight 4 overs with Rob picking up a wicket which put the pressure on the Gosport batsman, it was then over to the Stanley trio to give us a great chance of winning the game as between them they took the next 5 wickets, young Felix's off spin is progressing nicely and Oscar's accuracy is improving as they took a wicket each and with Talitha leading by example taking 3 wickets the game swung our way. Ged kept the pressure with a tight couple of overs before Elliott and Rob picked up a wicket each in their comeback overs and left Gosport needing 12 to win off their last over with 1 wicket left so crucial that we bowled an accurate over, Elliott stepped up and bowled a wonderful last over that only went for 3 singles and we ended up winners by 8 runs. A great win but what was really impressive was our team fielding including a near faultless keeping performance from Tom and our support for each other with the whole team backing up Talitha's captaincy. A very good evening!
