Match report Another chilly evening saw our brave arctic explorers take on Fareham. Choosing to bat first we got the best possible start as Ryan bowled his man first ball and then watched as Indie fed debutant Joseph to effect a good run out. Tight overs from Owen, Sanna and Joseph proceeded a bit of a fire storm as their last two pairs sung hard and hit well. Even then, first the returning Ryan took another first ball wicket then Indie rattled the timbers too. Gia had the honour of taking the tough last over and thanks to a great catch on the line from Ryan and a sharp one at midwicket from Owen she finished with a deserving two wickets. So, they closed on 128 and we earned 25 runs for the 5 wickets we'd taken.
Our chase started positively with Owen crashing back to back boundaries and Indie, hitting cleaning and running positively - the pair advancing us from the 25 run start to 49. Gia and Sanna cracked on too with Gia hitting 4 thunderous 4s. Sanna managed protect her wicket in the face of some pretty quick bowling. Last pair Ryan and Joseph had a lot to do and initially had to watch a few wides go by but once they got into their stride both lads found the rope in emphatic style. In the end it was a bit too much and their total of 128 + 3wickets (15 runs) left them with 143 trumping our 87 + 5wickets (25 runs) total of 112.
Again though there were loads of positive for all to take. Well done folks
