Match report Away to Hambledon and another close contest for the 9A's. Bowling first I have to say that our fielding was the best I have seen it yet this season. The most pleasing aspect was our backing up which we had talked about before the start, there were also several direct hits that could have resulted in run outs, one actual run out and a number of boundary saving slides and strong throws in to the wicket keeper. Our bowling generally was very good as well with wickets for Luke with a sharp catch from behind, a caught and Bowled for Jacob, a wicket for a disciplined Ryan off a catch from Jacob and one each for Sam and Elliot who both took middle stump of their respective victims. With the run out as well we ended up taking a decent 6 wickets for 121 runs conceded.
Into bat and our opening pair were Ryan and Thomas who ran well and looked to score whenever they could. Indie and Luke next and they too looked to be positive whenever they could. The only fly in the ointment was that we were losing wickets with regularity. Sam and Elliot in next and the score was moved on a little quicker although they were hampered by some wayward bowling that was difficult to hit. With Jacob and Gia in last the win was very much on however we could not concede anymore wickets. Some great running from Gia and the usual big hits from Jacob got us plenty of runs to finish. A great effort again and if we could just look after our wickets a little better they'll be no stopping us.
