Match report Our setting the target was dealt an early blow as Davo's charmed life (of 5 balls) came to an end at the end of the 1st over. Although Tristan didn't settle quite as we've come to expect he and the fluent Freddie got us going. When Freddie retired, a rash of wickets saw us lose Stan and Umar for 1 a piece and Tristan hole out to a cracking catch one short of his retirement. Freddie's return saw him find the back wall several times with Lenny playing his part to perfection taking the threes on offer. Another top catch saw Freddie perish when a big hit snapped off the roof and the final over was left to Lenny to fiddle a couple to get us to Nelson (111).
Freddie castled their opener second ball to get us in the box seat but 2, 3 and 4 all contributed significantly which kept them up with the rate until the last over saw them need 9 to win off Umar. A dot, a deflected 4 then a single kept everyone on their toes. Bowling the No.5 was another dot but brought the No.3 back. A wide-ish off-side ball was left but the umpire though it acceptable which left 4 needed off the last ball. Struck to the mid-wicket wall, Freddie collected it but to calls of "hold it" chose not go for the run out hence they were home and a good match tied.
