Match report Being asked to bat our decent scored owed much to Tom who provided his best knock yet - one we've known was in there, but just not happened. When the ski wearied feet of the skipper failed to respond we lost a wicket second ball. However, t'other Harrison played the sort of inning we'd expect from his more experienced name sake. Playing with a straight bat and running very well with Tom we looked very comfortable. Once Tom had retired the more flighted bowling saw Harrison, Fin and Henry all perish to catches playing just too soon. This brought Tom back in and he and Jacob got us going again until a straight one did for Jacob. Tom then decided to start cracking the back wall, four after four followed. The last over started with us on 100 but a few wides and more straight hitting from Tom took him to a maiden 50 and us to a defendable 130.
All the way through our fielding session we managed to stay that fraction in front, bowling well and fielding with great commitment. Fin's glove work ensured extras didn't rack up too. Run outs for Harrison M & Henry collected our two wickets but the bowling deserved more with everyone playing their part. The last over started as ours did, with the score on 100, but Harrison E did everything needed, leaving us 18 runs to the good. Well done all, the newbie's are looking the part and the old heads still doing the business.
