Portsmouth & Southsea Cricket Club Lost BY 6 runs

Match report Almost a fine end to the season but not quite.
We started off very poorly and had conceded over 100 runs by the 14th over, but with some disciplined bowling and tighter fielding were able to restrict Waterlooville to 119. Pick of the bowlers were Jack Till taking a fine
3 for 6 supported by Paul Lowden with 2 for 13. The problem in the field was all too familiar. Too many extras conceded, 23 in total.
When starting the chase things started like a dream with Kai Pidgeon hitting 32 off 11 balls, a record? But when Kai retired things slowed down through poor running and too much caution. Apart from a great knock of 30, retired, from Ollie Parvin and a 14 from Jack Till the bowlers were rarely troubled resulting in us failing by 6 runs. Still at least the umpire wasn't at fault for a change.
But all in all apart from my usual problems of wearing my heart on my sleeve this has been a good season. Thank you very much to those who gave me much needed support and to those who find me a pain sorry to say there is fight in the old dog yet. Have a good Summer. Alan, THE MANAGER!!
