Match report An excellent match played with tremendous team spirit resulted in an exciting tie.
Batting first P&S managed to score 91 for 2 which should have been much higher with such short boundaries. The innings got off to a good start with excellent batting performances from Sayeed Shahid 33 not out and Rob Middlewick with 30 not out to form a good platform that then ground to halt until livened by a brisk 13 not out from Jack Till.
Defending the total was never going to be easy but excellent pace bowling from Ben Saunders taking 3 for 15 and Rob Middlewick 2 for 6 kept us in the hunt but the old familiar problem of 24 extras conceded proved our undoing but could not detract from an excellent all round performance.
But rather than hide behind the extras issue, the real reason for us not getting a victory WAS ME!!! AN UMPIRING MISTAKE BY ME GIVING A BOUNDARY THAT APPARENTLY NEVER CROSSED THE MARKER FLAG MEANT THAT PTERSFIELD ENDED UP WITH 2 RUNS TOO MANY. YET ANOTHER THING TO LIVE DOWN!!
