Match report Winning the toss, skipper Harrison chose to bat. Our flexible batting order saw Jack and Alfie open up. Jack confidently clipped the ball to all parts to retire in quick time. Alfie started confidently too but soon holed out. Dan pulled his first ball for 4 but unluckily fell off an inside edge via his pad to be bowled. Harrison played in a controlled fashion holding things together for us while Lochie smoked his first ball through cover for 4. Both were bowled as the inning drew to the close but Robert, with his glances and pushes, and Tom with some cracking boundary hits, hurried us home to a decent total. With some work on our calling and running we could have added a few more.
Our defence of 144 started in the best possible fashion as James swung his first ball at a good pace past their opener's defensive push to clip the top of off.
Tight overs from Alfie, Lochie, Rob and Jack kept us well in things. All the while Tom worked up a waspish pace, castling two of his 3 victims. Dan tempted a lob to point where James was safe as houses and the evening's "top gun" Harrison's flight gave Tom 3 catches (to go with one off his own bowling). Fin topped a good night with the gloves to give the skipper a deserved 4 wicket return by beating the batters retreat for a sharp stumping.
It was a very comprehensive bowling and fielding performance. Well done all.
