Match report Purbrook won the toss and decided to bat. Brad Mengham underpinned their innings scoring 30no off 16 balls. Our top bowler was U12 Sam Collings-Wells (4-0-7-2) and debutant Ben Jackson (U11) showed many of the older lads what is meant by attacking fielding. The 2 other wickets fell to Tom Lavery (U12) and Max Beaver (U9).

With 111 to chase down the openers got off to a roaring start with a good strike rates. Tom Benfield was top scorer retiring 30no off 19. Seth Jackson showed the big Brad Mengham size isn’t everything hitting 27 off 13 before falling to a cracking diving catch by M Dudley who stopped him retiring on the 14th ball. Sayeed Shahid and Prashanth Ramaraj saw the team home in 16th over to win by 5 wickets.

In terms of wickets taken by P&S and runs scored by the opponents this was the toughest match yet. However, both sides must take credit for the spirit in which it was played.
