Match report P&S U13a chalked up their 3rd successive win of the season against Fareham & Crofton CC. P&S lost the toss and were put into to bat. All batsmen kept the run rate ticking over to reach 134-8. Notable efforts were Tom Farnworth (retired 30no) and Tom Benfield (25no).
With a good score on the board, P&S just had to keep focused and apply pressure on the batsmen. This came from some tidy bowling from openers Phil Belcher (3-1-6-0) and Ed Hands (4-0-16-0). Fareham & Crofton’s batsmen, although comfortable at the crease were not able to score quickly enough. This resulted in a run out through Tom Benfield’s superb fielding and a direct hit. The rest of the bowlers kept it tight, on what was a good batting wicket, to confine Fareham & Crofton to 106 for 6.
Other noteworthy performances were Tom Farnworth’s 3 stumpings and Tim Hands providing drinks to players and umpires halfway through each innings.
