Match report P&S finished their season in style with a good win over a decent Gosport side.

The home side were forced into a late change as Tom Parker was ill, Joel Eastment stepping in to help. Lenny and Umar opened the batting and Umar was straight into his stride, smashing 18 from the first 2 overs. When Umar retired the rate slowed down a little, partly due to a large amount of wides being bowled that prevented us from hitting runs. Lenny kept plugging away and retired for a well made 38, and Jack, Alfie and Harrison all contributed to a total of 143.

The visitor's reply got off to a poor start when the opener was caught off a full toss from Jack. They did get some momentum going and a good stand saw their two strongest players both retire having played some nice shots, one reaching his 35 with a huge six over the netting at square leg. But a mix up when running and some good work in the field saw a run-out and Joel took two in two overs with a tidy spell of bowling to leave Gosport behind the run rate. Ben bowled a beauty to take the top of off stump, leaving P&S needing just one wicket to seal the win. It came in dramatic style as a mis-timed heave off Jack sailed back over the bowler's head and Umar, running across and slightly backwards took a diving catch inches off the ground...

A great end to a fantastic season sees us sitting at the top of the table! Well played to all the boys; it has been a real group effort, from those that play regularly to the lads who have helped out when needed. You should all be very proud of yourselves, we are!
