Match report Another close one but again just the wrong side of the result.
Asked to bat Tristan C and Freddie gave us a steady start with an opening stand of 69 off 12 overs in the face of some pretty hostile bowling from their 2 big guns. Although Tristan chopped a wide one to short third man and t'other Tristan found himself run out we were pretty well placed for the acceleration that never came. Once Freddie retired in the 16th over Mo kept his end up well but we couldn't find the extra gear we needed and we closed on 107.
With the ball Mo was very tidy and Harrison's great catch earned him a wicket late on. Freddie's urgent fielding got us rolling with a run out after their big opener had opened his shoulders. While all our bowlers hit the mark regularly their number 3 looked comfortable and we offered up just too many extras and 4 balls to win this one.
Ultimately, from the scorers table, our biggest problem appeared to be getting some urgency into our batting. Unless a bowler has a real day to remember we will need to post more competitive scores than just over the 100.
