Match report P&S U13's maintained their position at the top of the table in a tense game at St Helen's.

Lenny won the toss and chose to bat, but we got off to a disappointing start as we lost Tom Wheeler and then Umar despite having looked in good touch. Lenny steadied the ship before upping the run rate with several crashing cover drives, and despite losing a couple to LBW decisions, Tom Parker held an end well until Lenny retired and Callum joined him to take us up to 118/6.

Tom W got us off to a great start as a delivery heading down the leg side swung back in, trapping the dangerous opener in the second over. However, Portsmouth recovered and were ahead of the run rate when Harrison was thrown the ball. His first over included 2 cracking off-breaks that clean bowled both batsmen and changed the game. Portsmouth were rocked and another wicket for Harrison and a first one for Callum Robbins left us on the brink, and Lenny did the honours, clean bowling the wicketkeeper to leave Portsmouth all out for 91.

A great result that keeps us well in the hunt for the league title!
